Are You Looking For A Meaningful Volunteer Opportunity With Middle And High School Students In The Bay Area?
WriterCoach Connection brings teams of trained volunteers into East Bay public schools and nonprofit organizations to provide critical thinking and writing coaching to middle and high school youth.
We call our volunteers coaches because of the unique role that they play with the youth that they work with. Our coaches support their students in a process that encourages them to think critically about their writing prompt, organize their thoughts coherently, and then confidently express their unique voice through writing. It is during these personal, in-depth conversations that the magic of WCC happens. It is all about the connection. One adult, and one student, working together to draw out the student’s perspectives and lived experiences.
No background or expertise is required! Our in-depth training provides the strategies and practices you will need to be a terrific coach! We welcome volunteers from a variety of backgrounds; including working and retired people, parents, grandparents, college students, and community members. *Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate.
